MORGANTOWN — The Morgantown Police Department is hunting for a man who stole several cell phones from a downtown business on Tuesday.
No one was injured in the robbery and no customers were in the store during the robbery as it was supposed to be closed, Andrew Stacy, Morgantown’s public information officer said.
A man robbed the Boost Mobile Store at 360 High Street about 8:35 p.m., according to the MPD. A manager told police about the robbery about 10:06 p.m. and said the employee who reported the robbery was no longer at the scene.
As of now, cell phones are the only items that have been reported stolen, Stacy said.
Detectives met with the businesses’ management, processed the crime scene and pulled a video of the robbery.
The suspect is a black male, of average height, wearing a black sweatshirt, black sweatpants with white lettering on the left leg and black tennis shoes. The suspect also wore a black backpack and had a black and silver semi-automatic handgun, the MPD said.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about the incident should call the MPD Detective Unit at 304-284-7454.
