MORGANTOWN — The Morgantown High baseball team held a 5-1 lead heading into the final inning before Steubenville rallied to score seven runs — clinching the 8-7 win.
The Mohigans scored two runs in the bottom of the last inning, but couldn’t muster enough to complete the comeback.
Devon Neal led Morgantown (22-4) at the plate, finishing the game 3-for-4 with a double, home run, and bringing home five RBIs. Quintin Smith and Caleb Taylor each collected two hits.
Taylor got the start on the mound and got the loss. He pitched 6.2 innings and allowed eight runs on 15 hits and a walk.
