Hoyer to release more information on Guard member death

CHARLESTON — West Virginia National Guard Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. James Hoyer will host a late afternoon news conference in Charleston to release more information about the training exercise death of a Guard member.

A soldier with the Army National Guard was killed during the exercise that was taking place in Suffolk, Va. Wednesday afternoon. Reports indicate the death came during a parachuting exercise at Suffolk Executive Airport. The Guard member was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hoyer will release more information, including the solider’s name, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
