Richard A. Hilling, 78, of Morgantown, passed away on April 7, 2019, at Mon Health Medical Center, surrounded by family.
He was born on March 2, 1941, in Morgantown, to Vernon and Hilda Hilling.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Betty; children, Jennifer Hilling, Beth Hilling-Fields and husband, Dennis, Greg Hilling, Bonnie White and husband Robert, B. Franklin Sibbitt; extended family, Robert Cress; grandchildren, Lucas White, Jacob White, Sierra McDonald, Becca Hilling; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Richard had a passion for painting, drawing, playing the piano, and singing. He enjoyed and loved playing bingo at the Senior Center. He loved working for WVU and retired after 25 years.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Vernon; mother, Hilda; sisters, Barbara Hilling and Marlyn Messenger; and brother, Ronald Hilling.
Friends and family will be received at Hasting Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, from 3 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, and from 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, until services begin at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Sean Wightman officiating. Interment will follow at Summers Cemetery, Morgantown.
