University catches fire from 3, soundly defeats Fort Hill (Md.) 96-64

CUMBERLAND, Md. — Kaden Metheny and Rodney Bucklew combined to score 47 points for University in a 96-64 victory over Fort Hill (Md.) on Friday evening.

The Hawks shot the ball extremely well in the first half, making nine 3-pointers. Bucklew scored 20 of his 22 points in the first half, and Metheny also tallied seven assists. University made 13 total 3-pointers in the contest.

K.J. McClurg scored 17 points for the Hawks (19-3) and Ryan Niceler had 14.

University will play again at 7 p.m. on Wednesday against Preston in the first round of the sectional tournament.
