CLARKSBURG — A 26-year-old Monongalia County woman pleaded guilty to producing child porn in federal court on Thursday.
Tara Kae Ponceroff admitted to one count of aiding and abetting production of child pornography and faces up to 30 years in prison. Additionally, she faces a fine of up to $250,000, according to a press release by the U.S. Department of Justice Northern District of West Virginia.
Ponceroff said in December 2017, she produced and distributed child porn in Monongalia County. A previous press release said the case involved two children.
She was indicted by a federal grand jury on Aug. 6, 2018 on two counts of transportation of child pornography, one count of production of child pornography and one count aiding and abetting production of child pornography.
Ponceroff was arrested Aug. 14, 2018, on Beulah Road, by U.S. Marshals.
Assistant U.S. Attorney David J. Perri is prosecuting the case. The investigation was carried out by the West Virginia State Police and U.S Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi presided.
