MARTINSBURG — The Morgantown High girls’ basketball team defeated Martinsburg 48-47 on Saturday, and won in dramatic fashion in the process.
With no time left and the game tied, Morgantown’s Lexi Hughes was fouled . She made one of the two free throws to secure the win for the Mohigans (9-7). She also led Morgantown in scoring with 14.
Sydni Clawges scored 13 points and Kaitlyn Ammons had 12 for the Mohigans.
Morgantown will play again at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday in the Big Atlantic Classic in Beckley.
