CHARLESTON — Here is a sampling of bills introduced Jan. 14. The governor’s intermediate appeals court bill is among them. Monongalia-Preston-Marion-area lead sponsors and co-sponsors, if any, are noted.

SB 287, to require the Department of Health and Human Resources to terminate parental rights if the child has been subject to abuse or neglect on two or more separate occasions. Smith, lead sponsor; Sypolt, Clements, Maroney, co-sponsors.
SB 298, to allow persons with developmental disabilities to receive a base hunting license and to satisfy the training requirements through a modified training course, and to allow T a person with developmental disabilities to lawfully hunt while accompanied and directly supervised by another hunter. SJR 8, a proposed constitutional amendment to require Senate confirmation of gubernatorial appointments to state Supreme Court vacancies.
HB 2004, among other things, to strengthen “the focus on program integration between public school career and technical programs and post-secondary community and technical college programs leading to high demand, high wage jobs, and on identifying when the competencies that students have already gained count toward occupational licensure.” Delegate Terri Sypolt, R-Preston, co-sponsor.
