MORGANTOWN — With Will Grier sitting out the bowl game in preparation for the NFL draft, Holgorsen has decided to turn one quarterback into a pair of quarterbacks.
WVU coach Dana Holgorsen said that sophomore quarterback Jack Allison and freshman Trey Lowe are both going to play against the Orange.
“I know what those guys can do. We didn’t just add them to our team yesterday,” Holgorsen said. “Guys get into a backup quarterback mode and plateau for awhile. Once they’re no longer a backup quarterback, they elevate pretty quickly. ”
Allison is a traditional pocket passer, while Lowe rushed for 940 yards and passed for 1,819 yards in his senior season of high school.
