Paving, repairs to reduce a portion of I-79 to two lanes until Dec. 1

MORGANTOWN — Interstate 79 will be reduced to one lane for both northbound and southbound traffic until Dec. 1 between mile marker 155.5 and the Pennsylvania state line.
The West Virginia Department of Transportation issued the announcement over the weekend via social media, explaining that the closure is tied to continued road repairs and paving.
According to the agency’s statement, work will be performed on the outside (slow) lane of I-79 south and the inside (passing) lane on the northbound side.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and plan ahead to allow additional commute time.
Weather may impact the project’s schedule.
