Donald Taylor

Donald Lee Taylor, 76, of Kingwood,  died on Monday, November 19, 2018, at his home with his wife, Ann and step-son, Matthew, by his bedside.

Donald was born June 7, 1942, in Terra Alta, a son of the late Robert Taylor and Nellie (Burns) Taylor Nethken.

He was a graduate of Rowlesburg High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Vietnam War Era. Donald was a former owner of the Exxon Service Station, in Rowlesburg, employed by the Preston County Board of Education as a bus driver for over 25 years, where he also had served as the Supervisor of the Bus Garage. He was later employed by F & M Coal. He was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2391. Donald’s hobby was trading cars.

He is survived by his wife, Ann (Shaffer) Johnson Taylor; one son and spouse, Michael and Regan Taylor, of Elkins; one daughter and spouse, Cindy (Taylor) and Mike Bloodgood, of Ft. Worth, Texas; two step-sons and spouses, Mark and Barb Johnson, Matthew and Zeda Johnson, both of Kingwood; one step-daughter, Suzy Keener, of Kingwood; two sisters, Betty Jenkins, of Terra Alta, Mary Lou Conner, of Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandchildren and spouses, Holly and Andrew Glover, Tara and A.J. Glotfelty, Adrienne and Mark Hulett, Jessica Bloodgood; five step-grandchildren and spouses, Niki and Osten Waybright, Nathanael Johnson, Courtney Johnson, Brandi Johnson, Kaitlyn Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Jackson, Ryder and Rylee; the apples of pappy’s eyes, Avery Waybright and Sawyer Waybright; and his special love child, Slade.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Daniel Taylor.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel from 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24,  until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Sonny McNear officiating. Military honors will be accorded following the service at the funeral home chapel by the Preston County VFW Honor Guard.
