Mon Health Medical Center Auxiliary’s 56th Ball of the Year is set for Nov. 3 at the Morgantown Event Center at the Marriott Morgantown Waterfront Place. Cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m., and it is followed by dinner and dancing.
Break out the black dresses, diamonds and pearls because this year’s theme is Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
The goal of the ball is to raise funds for Mon Health Medical Center’s patient care, and this year is no different.
Proceeds from this year’s Ball of the Year will go toward purchasing a Plethysmograph machine and software for the hospital’s respiratory/pulmonary care department.
A Plethysmograph conducts a pulmonary function test that measures a patient’s lung volume and how well the lungs are working. This machine can help determine if patients who have pulmonary diseases are capable of tolerating surgery.
The Ball of the Year is the largest fundraiser of the year for Mon Health. In fact, last year’s Ball of the Year raised more than $100,000 toward the purchase of a flexible HD videoscope to detect early bladder cancer.
“The Ball of the Year has a strong reputation of successful fundraising for hospital projects in its 55 years of existence and this year is no different,” said Jason Savage, chair of the Ball of the Year Committee. “The committee voted to raise money for a Plethysmograph because it will benefit a large number of patients.”
