Ruby Jean Bailey, 87, resided at Sundale Nursing Home, formerly of Tunnelton, died peacefully Thursday, October 11, 2018, at J. W. Ruby Hospital with family by her side.
She was born Sept. 5, 1931, in Denver Community, a daughter of the late Edward A. Edwards, Sr. and Lula Agnes Shaw Edwards.
Ruby was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a graduate of Tunnelton High class of 1949. She worked for various businesses as a clerk. She was a member of the Denver United Methodist Church and Choir. She was the last survivor of her immediate family.
She is survived by her son, Michael E. Bailey and wife, Donna, of Reedsville; her daughter, Jeannine A. Funk and husband, Garry, of Tunnelton; three grandchildren, Joshua Bailey and wife, Trista, Abby Bailey and companion, Jeremy Holt and Sheldon Funk and wife, Jennifer; one great-granddaughter, Madeline Funk and a step-grandchild, Jeremy Hovatter.
She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Edward Bailey in 1983; three brothers, Edward (Tater) Edwards, John (Tom) Edwards and Ralph Edwards and four sisters, Mary (Kate) Jenkins, Susan Fittro, Virginia (Mag) Hall and Betty Shrout.
Family will receive friends at Browning Funeral Home, in Kingwood, from 2 – 8 p.m. on Sunday Oct. 14, and from 9 a.m. on Monday Oct. 15, until the 10 a.m. service time with the Reverend Dan Hardesty and Pastor David Kisamore officiating. Interment will follow at the Shaw Cemetery Denver Community.
