KINGWOOD — Additional charges have been filed against a man accused of setting his house on fire in Fairmont and filing a false insurance claim.
Christopher Carlton Metheny, 35, of Kingwood, is charged with harassment and intimidation of several witnesses in the arson investigation, according to a criminal complaint filed by State Police Cpl. D.W. Simmons. He was arraigned in Preston County Magistrate Court.
Last month, Metheny and Brittany Marie Drake Metheny were charged by state fire marshals with making a fraudulent insurance claim, burning insured property and first-degree arson. According to criminal complaints in that case, they set fire to their former home at 114 May St., Fairmont, in December.
