MORGANTOWN — Part of the left lane on High Street, just before Morgan’s High Street Diner, was closed Tuesday while the Morgantown Utility Board (MUB) replaced a water valve.
Repairs were scheduled for a fire hydrant on Chancery Row, next to the Monongalia County Courthouse, Chris Dale, MUB spokesperson, said. The valve for that hydrant is controlled by the valve near Walnut Street, which needed to be replaced, he said.
Dale said the valve replacement was finished Tuesday and from 4-6 a.m. today, water in the area will be turned off. Residents and businesses were informed of the work.
Chancery Row will likely be closed during the repairs on the hydrants, but all work — including a permanent repair on High Street — should be completed Friday, he said.
Part of the maintenance work will involve installing a separate shutoff valve for the hydrant.
