Tresa Sordi

Tresa “Nonnie” Mary Sordi, 100, died of natural causes on July 27, 2018. She was born on March 9, 1918, in Morgantown, daughter of the late Attilio and Italia Lucci.
She and her husband, Oogie, lived and raised their family in Fairmont until his death in 1974. Tresa and Oogie loved the life they built and time they had together and are now reunited with God.
Mrs. Sordi was a homemaker and worked at Hills Department store for 20 years. She was an active member St. Peter the Fisherman’s Catholic Church, Catholic Golden Age, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, and a former member of the Ladies Elks.
For her family and friends, Nonnie was a consistent source of strength and love, giving all she had to provide comfort and support to those around her. Nonnie enjoyed playing bingo, visiting with her friends in person or on the phone, and spoiling her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Nonnie will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  May God bless her and welcome her to rest in peace for eternity.
Mrs. Sordi is survived by her daughters, Barbara Wilt, of Charlotte, N.C., Ida Gallo and son-in-law, Frank Gallo, of Fairmont; three grandchildren, Gina (Ronnie) Ryals, Krista (Mark) Foltz, and Frank (Cathy) Gallo; 9 great-grandchildren, Jack, Emma, Christian, Tyler, Maxwell, Ella, Sophia, Frankie, and Alexandra; brothers, James “Jeno” Lucci and wife, Mary, and August “Augie” Lucci; sisters, Arlene Jernejcic, Mary Ann Dalzot, and Virginia Gibson and husband Nelson; and sisters-in-law, Maxine Lucci, and Liz Lucci.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Oogie Sordi; son-in-law, Barry Wilt; sisters, Florence Lorenze and husband Steve, and Ennis DeMichele and husband John; brothers, Attilio “Tito” Lucci, Abraham Lucci, and Michael Lucci and wife, Wanda; brothers-in-law, Hugo Dalzot and Carl Jernejcic; and sister-in-law, Anna Mae Lucci.
The family would like to give special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and Fairmont Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
The family will receive friends  at Domico Funeral Home, in Fairmont, from 1 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 29.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, in Fairmont, at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 30,  with Father Joe Konikattil as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Fairmont.
