Betty (Gallaher) Brown, 90, of Kingwood, died on Tuesday, July 24, 2018.
Betty was born June 1, 1928, in Glen Dale, a daughter of the late Harold Porter and Hazel (Steele) Gallaher.
She worked as the Librarian from 1963 to 1977 for Kingwood High School, then for Central Preston High School from 1978 until she retired in 1989 from the Preston County Board of Education. Betty was a member of the Kingwood Red Hat Mammas and a life member of the ex-prisoner of war organization.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Charles H. Brown; two daughters and spouse, Nan Brown, of Kingwood, Jana and Harold Harsh, of Oakland, Md.; two grandchildren, Charles Patrick Brown and Courtney Dawn Brown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Lewis Charles Brown; three sisters, Yvonne Brown, Nell Stewart, Martha Hardy; one brother, James Patrick, Gallaher, Md.; two brothers-in-law, Donald Painter, Brown, Md., and Lee Hardy.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel from 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 28. Cremation services are under the direction of Rotruck-Lobb Crematory.
