Granville Town Council asked to consider taking ownership of Sesame Drive

MORGANTOWN — Granville Town Council was asked to consider taking ownership of Sesame Drive, which is an 800-foot road between Panda Express and Wendy’s at the University Town Centre.
A parcel of land next to Wendy’s is also connected with the road and council questioned if development would be taking place on that parcel.
“Was there any anticipation that there would be development beyond that and that we would be expected to extend the road?” Granville Town Mayor Patricia Lewis asked.
“I don’t think that’s possible given the sloped terrain,” said Attorney for Steptoe & Johnson, Brian GaIlagher.
Council decided to put it on the agenda for the June 26 meeting and revisit it once more information on the road was obtained.

Council made a motion to pass the second and final reading of the “Disruption of a Public Process” ordinance.
Mayor Patricia Lewis informed council of several different Potesta updates:
Posteta is paving roads, proceeding with the bid package for the Splash Park, working on the right of entry for a storm pipe on Gilchrist Street and reviewing the downstream area of Bowser Street to determine if it can discharge near the railroad.
Council voted to accept a $600 truck bed bid from Mike Darmell.
The bleachers at the Granville softball park are complete and the barrier next to the creek will be completed this week.
Movie in the Park will beJune 23 at the Granville softball fields.
