Betty L. Cottrell, 79, a longtime resident of the Stewartstown Community, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at her home. Born June 9, 1938, in Parkersburg, she was a daughter of the late Roy M. and Lillian Irene (Waybright) Fitch.
Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed looking after the needs of her family and was happiest when they were around.
She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Rita and Vernon Deal of Masontown, Mike and Terrie Cottrell, Steve and Debbie Cottrell, Chris and Mabel Cottrell and Tim and Amy Cottrell, all of the Stewartstown and Morgantown area; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Leory Fitch, of Ga. and a number of loving nieces and nephews and their families.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Franklin Delano Roosevelt “Rose” Cottrell, May 11, 2016.
Friends will be received in the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., on Friday June 8 and from 830-930 a.m. Saturday, with the hour of service to follow. Interment follows in Forks-of-Cheat Baptist Church Cemetery.
