Thomas Lee Everly, 84, of Maidsville, passed away Monday morning, June 4, 2018, at his residence.
Born Jan. 9, 1934, in Morgantown, he was a son of the late Charles Guy Everly and the late Emma Jane (Cole) Everly.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Louise Jordan Everly; two children, Thomas Guy Everly and his wife, Cindy Lea, of Morgantown, and Cynthia Fern Everly, of Mount Hope; his grandchildren, Ashley Jeannette Summers, of Morgantown, and Rachel Nicole Mitchell and her husband, David, of Maidsville; two great-grandsons, Brayden Wayne Summers and Cedar Thomas Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, William Elmer Everly and Virginia; and a brother-in-law, Bill Jones.
Thomas was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He worked for several years in the maintenance department of West Virginia University in many capacities. He was a member of the Joseph W. Summers Masonic Lodge 173, as well as the Canyon Senior Citizens, where he enjoyed going to their meetings and dinners. His hobbies also included hunting, fishing and reading — particularly books on history and those pertaining to the Civil War.
At his request, there will be no public services.
