MTC hosts variety of summer camps

MORGANTOWN — Morgantown Theatre Company (MTC), a non-profit children’s theater at 369 High St., will hold four weeks of summer theater camps for local children. The camps will run from July 9-Aug. 3, and designed for children entering 2nd-6th grades. Children can be registered for morning, afternoon or both. Snacks will be provided. Campers can be dropped off between 8:30-9 a.m. and picked up between 4-4:30 p.m. Campers enrolled for full day should pack a lunch.

  • Prices for each camp are $70 or $130 for the full day.
  • Discounts for multiple weeks and camps
  • Full day for two weeks is $120 for each week ($240 total).
  • Full day for three weeks is $115 for each week ($345 total),
  • Full day for four weeks is $110 for each week ($440 total).
  • Four camps or more is $60 a camp.

July 9-13 camps

  • Getting Down with Disney! — 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Cost is $70. Campers will join in dancing, singing and everything Disney.
  • Stories to Stage! — 1-4 p.m. Cost is $70. Campers will create a play, props and scenery based on a popular children’s short story. (Full week $130).

July 16-20 camps

  • Broadway Bound! — 9 a.m.-noon. Cost is $70. Campers will explore what makes a Broadway show and participate in songs, dance, and acting exercises from various Broadway staples.
  • Aye Aye, Captain! — 1-4 p.m. Cost is $70. Campers will put together their own production based on life at sea. (Full week $130).

July 23-27 camps

  • Superheroes Assemble! — 9 a.m.-noon Cost is $70. Campers will use their imagination to create their very own superhero and create a show based on their characters.
  • A Look Backstage — 1-4 p.m. Cost is $70. From prop making to theater makeup, this class will help actors understand every aspect of theater. (Full week $130).

July 30-Aug. 3 camps

  • Imagination Exploration! — 9 a.m.-noon. Cost is $70. Campers will create their every own show by writing a script, adding popular songs, and choreographing dances.
  • Fairytale Fantasy! — 1-4 p.m. Cost is $70. Campers will put a spin on popular fairy tales to make them their own. (Full week $130).
