On Saturday, there will be a ceremony at 2 p.m., at Oak Grove Cemetery near the Soldiers Monument. This is organized by the Westover VFW. The DAR chapters will lay wreaths.
Blacksville Parade
A Memorial Day parade will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, in Blacksville. Line up will be at 10 a.m.
A chicken roast will be held at the Blacksville social hall with carnival games at Clay-Battelle High School and vendor show at Blacksville Town Hall.
Preston Ceremony
PISGAH — Memorial Day Services will be held Sunday, at Fairview Cemetery, in Pisgah. The Bruceton Band, the VFW and the Vietnam Brigade will attend.
Events will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the Soldiers March, at Fairview Cemetery. A basket lunch will be held at noon at Pisgah United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., honoring the oldest veteran present. It is sponsored by the Fair-view Cemetery Association.
Grafton Parade
On Monday, The Elizabeth Ludington Hagans-Col. John Evans Chapter DAR will walk in the 151st Grafton Memorial Day parade, which begins at 10 a.m.
Morgantown Ceremony
On Monday, The Morgantown VFW will have its usual Memorial Day commemoration at 11 a.m., on the Courthouse Square. The DAR Chapters will lay wreaths.
Preston Courthouse
KINGWOOD — The Preston County Courthouse will be closed Monday. The Preston County Commission meeting for the week will be moved to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Flag Day Luncheon
On June 9, there will be a Flag Day Luncheon at noon at the Pines Country Club. on Point Marion Road. The Elizabeth Ludington Hagans-Col. John Evans DAR Chapter will recognize Phil Caskey, from UHS, as its Outstanding Teacher of American History for the state of WV.
