ALBRIGHT — For the 24th year, festival-goers gathered to celebrate live music and raise money for Friends of the Cheat, whose mission it is to “restore, preserve and promote the outstanding natural qualities of the Cheat Watershed.”
As the organization’s biggest fundraiser, Cheat Fest spans two days, bringing vendors, artisans, educational outreach, environmental advocates and, of course, a variety of bands to the banks of the Cheat River in Albright.
Today marks the second for the festival, featuring nine bands, crafts and scavenger hunts for kids, yoga classes, backpacking instruction and myriad educational courses.
Gates open at 11:30 a.m., with music starting at noon.
Tickets are $20 at the gate. Kids under 12 are admitted free. Festival tickets do not include camping. No glass and no pets are allowed. For info, directions and a full schedule of events: cheatfest.org.
