Kaden Metheny hit a triple and a home run for the University High baseball team, and pitcher Josh Gibson earned the win, 6-1, on April 30, against Linsly.
Austin Forbes drove in two runs for the Hawks (14-7), while Gibson helped his own cause by also driving in two runs. Hunter Cottrell and Metheny had the other two RBIs.
UHS will host Hedgesville at 5 p.m. May 2.

BRIDGEPORT — Jaron Summer and David Reckart each tallied four goals for the Knights (7-7, 6-3 division) in an important road win without three starters.
Matt Allen and Austin Casteel each had two goals, while Jacob DeVall had one. Summers (2), Reckart (2), Allen (2), Casteel and Austin Cress all had assists. Goalie Jeremy Hovatter had four saves.
PHS will travel to University at 6 p.m. May 2.

The Hawks bounced back from a loss to Berkeley County in a big way with a blowout win.
UHS (8-1) was led by Branden Wilson, with six goals and one assist. Antonio Mascaro was behind him with five goals and six assists. Quinn Napolillo had five goals and two assists. Other goals came from Nate Gibson, Mathias Turner, Jacob Stahl and Denver Wagner.
Gibson had two assists, while Turner, Reis Snider each had one assist.
AJ Adams had six saves as the goalie.
UHS will host Preston at 6 p.m. May 2. At 5:30 p.m., there will be a presentation to remember 20 years of lacrosse in West Virginia.
