Rosella Kay Dalton Cox, 64, of Morgantown, was reunited with her husband, who died just seven short months ago. She passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 14, 2018.
The daughter of the late Rev. Cosper and Addie Dalton, she was born Aug. 29, 1953, in Morgantown.
Kay worked nearly 20 years for WVU as a cook at several different dormitories and halls.
Kay is survived by her daughter, Tamra “Tam” Stevens and husband, Mark; the pride and joy of her life were her grandchildren, Brenna, Mathias and Micalynn Stevens; sister, Patty “Ham” Dalton and companion, Ray Garland; brother, Marvin Dalton and wife, Sissy, of Mt. Morris, Pa.; brothers, Junior Dalton and wife, Debbie, of Morgantown, Joey Dalton and wife, Sue, and Duke Dalton; sister, Nancy Murray and husband, David, all of Morgantown. Also surviving is her special nieces, Amy McDonald and husband, Chuck, Patty Renee Dalton, Charlotte Grimes and Mary Lou Skipper; and several other great-nieces and great-nephews whom she loved dearly.
Kay was a beloved wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed. She enjoyed gospel music. She and her siblings would visit many of the sings around the area. Kay always had a song in her heart.
In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson; sisters, Bonnie Bookie, Georgia and Sissy; and her brother, Bobby.
Family will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, and from noon Thursday, April 19, until the 1 p.m. services with the Rev. Mike Brown and her brothers, Marvin and Junior Dalton officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
