MORGANTOWN — Monongalia County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a suspect after an armed robbery April 10.
At 1:52 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the Quality Inn off of Grafton Road for an armed robbery report. A clerk said the suspect jumped over the front counter and pointed a handgun at her and demanded money, according a press release. She complied, and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.
The suspect is described as a black male, small in stature, wearing gloves and a black hooded sweatshirt. The clerk said the suspect sounded like he had a “foreign” voice.
After the robbery, she said he exited the building on foot. The clerk, who was the only employee at the desk, did not see which way the suspect went. No one was injured.
