Robert Martin “Hubie” Hubeaut, 81, of Point Marion, Pa., passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, in Pittsburgh, surrounded by loving family.A son of the late Henry Howard and Marie (Adams) Hubeaut, Bob was born Jan. 22, 1937, in Morgantown.
A 1956 graduate of Point Marion High School, Bob was employed as an artist at Houze Glass Factory, later at the Fort Martin Power Plant and then retired from Cumberland Coal in 2001. He was employed by the Pines Country Club, in Morgantown, doing maintenance on the golf carts.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1954-’62, and was a member of VFW Post 747, the American Legion 499 and FOE 1932, all in Point Marion. He enjoyed golfing, watching westerns, woodworking and bragging about his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Hubeaut; and great-grandchildren, Jacoby and Jovie Chicarelli.
Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Nancy (Ridenour) Hubeaut; his children, Martin Hubeaut (Susan Lewis), Denise Stewart and husband, James, Renee Tucker and husband, Tim, Patrick Hubeaut (Bethany Shaney-felt); his grandchildren, Bradley Hubeaut, Bethany Chicarelli and husband, Josh, Michael and Molly Tucker, Nathaniel Brown, Kage Churby and Mila Hubeaut; and great-granddaughters, Rowan Chicarelli and Nova Keener.
Friends will be received at Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, in Point Marion, from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, and from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 5, when a prayer service will be held, followed by a Memorial Mass at St. Hubert R.C. Church, in Point Marion, at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park, in Point Marion, with military honors by the Point Marion Veterans Posts.
