Rep. Evan Jenkins made a campaign swing through Morgantown Friday, aiming to get his name out in the northern part of the state where he is less well known.
Jenkins — a Third District congressman and former Cabell County delegate and senator — is one of six Republicans vying in the May primary for a shot at unseating Democrat incumbent Sen. Joe Manchin.
During a visit to The Dominion Post, Jenkins touted his lifelong West Virginia ties. He was born and raised here, he said. His wife, Elizabeth, is a WVU graduate. They have three children: one in high school, one in college and one an officer in the Marine Corps.
He summarized his Senate campaign: “It’s about service. It’s about caring for our state. Most importantly it’s about our West Virginia values.”
