The Preston County Solid Waste Authority was updated on cleanup efforts

For The Dominion Post

KINGWOOD — The Preston County Solid Waste Authority (PCSWA) was updated on cleanup efforts around the county at its meeting this week.

Kingwood Councilman Michael Lipscomb told the authority March 7 that a Price Street building, formerly known as Hall’s Carpet, is scheduled to undergo environmental testing, including tests for asbestos. He said once the tests are complete the city may take ownership of the building.

Lipscomb also said the owners of the building that houses Preston Home Medical, at the corner of Price and Main, said they would begin repairs on that building as soon as the weather permits.

He also told board members he would like to see roll-offs for recycling. Lipscomb said this would give workers the ability to deliver an empty bin and pick up the full bin without having to make two trips.
