FAIRMONT — The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is working to obtain arrest warrants for a man in connection to a Jan. 19 homicide.
On Jan. 22, Sheriff Jimmy Riffle said they are working on arrest warrants for Donald Carpenter. Carpenter was found Jan. 20 with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He is at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
On Friday, deputies were called to a vehicle along Sawmill Road near Bunner Ridge for an unresponsive woman. That woman was dead as the result of a gunshot. Police searched for Carpenter and found his vehicle, but not him. They found him the next day.
