MORGANTOWN — Teachers, students and administrators past and present gathered together at Mountainview Elementary Jan. 11 to take a trip back in time to when the school first opened.
The school turned 25-years-old on Jan. 5 and a ceremony to open a time capsule buried in 1993 – the school’s first year of operation – was held Wednesday.
“Twenty-five years go fast,” Former Assistant Principal Patty Benedum said.
Among the items in the capsule were sweatshirts, shirts and hats from First Ward Elementary, Second Ward Elementary and Dorsey Elementary – three of the schools that closed when Mountainview opened.
