On March 9, 2025, the kind-hearted and ever-friendly Michael Eugene Moore peacefully drew his last breath in his beloved hometown of Morgantown, at the age of 75. Born December 9, 1949, in the same enchanting town, Michael’s journey came full circle, surrounded by the hills he so cherished.
Michael leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, embodied by his wife of 55 years, Linda A. Moore; and his cherished daughters, Melissa Molisee (Paul) of Leesburg, Fla., and Tonya Moore of Morgantown. His sister, Linda Sue Cook of North Carolina; along with his treasured granddaughters, Tehya Radocay and Maggie Moore, will forever hold onto the joy he brought into their lives.
His commitment to community service shone brightly throughout his 33 years at NIOSH and his time served in the National Guard.
Michael’s jovial spirit was a cornerstone of the American Legion #174.
His passion for the Steelers and Mountaineers was only eclipsed by his handiness and the immense love he extended to all who knew him. Michael Eugene Moore’s memory will be embraced as a beacon of friendship and love to all whose lives he touched.
In addition to his parents, Carl and Dorothy Moore, Michael was also preceded in death by his brother-in- law, Gary Cook.
