Rodney Russell Martin

Rodney Russell Martin, 71, of Fairview, formerly of Hoodsville, WVa., passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. He was born on February 18, 1953 in Fairmont, a son of the late Charles Ray Martin, Jr. and Nellie Josephine Hetrick Martin.
Rodney is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Kepper Kay Wilson Martin; his children, Jennifer Potts and her husband Douglas of Rivesville, and Adam Martin and his wife Lori of Lower Burrell, Pa.; three grandchildren who he was very proud of, his very special grandson Tristan Wolfe (Emily), Finnegan and Emerson Davis-Martin; twin great-grandchild- ren, Marshall and Maverick Wolfe; brother, Larry DiPetta; sister, Ellen Ogden; special cousin, Linda Elsey Levine; special friends, Robert and Karen Gumney; many close neighbors; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Hugh Martin; sisters, Diana Trotta and Connie Suba; and in-laws, Ralph and Barbara Wilson.
Rodney was a 1971 graduate of Rivesville High School. He retired from Merchants Specialty in Grant Town where he worked as the owner and operator for over 50 + years with his father and grandfather. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter.
The family would like to thank WVU Hospice, especially Laura and Carrie for their love and care, as well as Dr. Lindsey, Dr. Aubar, Dr. Ross, and all the wonderful employees at the WVU Cancer Center and Infusion Lab.

The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26558. In accordance with Rodney’s wishes, cremation services will occur. The family will receive friends in the funeral home 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025.The memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Adam Stuck officiating.
