MORGANTOWN – M&S Consulting, a Morgantown-based tech firm, is now offering its employees the Moodr Health digital healthcare platform – a platform it had a hand in bringing to life.
The Moodr Health platform is a digital healthcare solution dedicated to proactively addressing, treating, and evaluating mental health challenges. It was founded through Morgantown-based Intermed Labs, along with M&S Consulting, which developed the technology behind the platform.
M&S Consulting said the company-wide implementation underscores its “commitment to prioritizing employee well-being and sets a new benchmark in the proactive care of mental health within the workplace.” The implementation marks Moodr Health’s first venture into supporting a broad workforce population.
M&S said the Moodr Health platform has been customized for multiple clients with a wide spectrum of focuses including perinatal mental health, substance use disorder, student health and wellness, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and stress-related disorders, social determinants of health, rural health, and grief.
M&S relates that according to the U.S. Surgeon General’s Framework for Workplace Mental Health and Wellbeing, 76% of employees report at least one symptom of a mental health condition, underscoring the need for companies to take an active role in supporting their teams.
And among the populations offered access to the Moodr Health platform, more than 95% have participated with a greater than 98% satisfaction rating.
“We’ve built a product that we know is so effective, it makes no sense to gatekeep this from our own employees,” said Ashok Aggarwal, M&S Consulting Co-Founder and Managing Partner. “The need for mental health resources is clear in today’s fast-paced business environments, and we’ve already seen the platform’s positive impact across other sectors. Now we are thrilled to bring it to our team. Part of being a great company is supporting your team, so we’re excited to offer this invaluable resource as we enter the new year.”
The Moodr platform identifies individuals who may benefit from support, M&S said. Through simple text messaging and mental health surveys, employees receive real-time communication and resources from trained wellness coaches. The system improves mental health outcomes and enables early intervention to prevent adverse situations from developing.
Michelle Hopkins, chief customer success officer at Moodr Health, said, “For each implementation, the Moodr Health platform is customized to meet the unique needs of the population being served. In this case, we’re helping M&S employees feel their best, and therefore perform their best. The system’s proactive communication enables objective data collection, which allows for risk stratification and targeted outreach, ultimately preventing more serious mental health issues from arising.”
Hopkins said the Moodr Health platform is designed as user-friendly, confidential, and HIPAA compliant. By logging into a desktop interface, wellness coaches are able to review client data and message directly with employees. Employees receive these messages and reply via text messaging, a medium that is both familiar and non-intrusive and is proven to drive engagement.
M&S Consulting co-founder and Managing Partner Sanu Chadha said, “Our team has always been at the forefront of digital solutions for complex business challenges, and the Moodr Health platform is another example of how we seamlessly integrate processes with technology. We’re proud to offer this invaluable resource to our employees and set the gold standard for how companies today should approach employee health and wellness.”
