Junior Eugene Kelly

Junior Eugene “Junie” Kelly, 83, of Terra Alta, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, in WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born January 14, 1941, at home in Kingwood, a son of the late Junior H. Kelly and Pauline Ellis Kelly Keim.
Junie lived a life defined by dedication to his family, hard work, and service to his community.
After completing school, Junie began his career at Nordick’s Gas and Service Station before moving on to Fez’s Service Station, where he worked for several years. He later joined Preston County Schools as a bus driver and eventually transitioned to the Bus Maintenance Division, where he served until his retirement. Even in retirement, Junie’s strong work ethic and passion for helping others continued; he drove for Buckwheat Express and transported Cheat River Outfitters passengers to whitewater rafting adventures. Additionally, he drove a tour bus for Shaffer Tours and Charters.
On July 3, 1993, Junie married the love of his life, Marjorie Ann Grimm, in Terra Alta. Together, they built a loving family, and Junie gained four devoted stepchildren, whom he cherished deeply.
Junie’s kindness, sense of humor, and devotion to family and community will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Marge Kelly; brothers, Donald L. Kelly of Inwood, and Robert P. Kelly of Cumberland, R.I.; sister, Connie K. Butcher of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two sons, Danny Kelly and Tim (Hope) Kelly; two stepdaughters, Jessie (James) Hart of Terra Alta and Shelia Steinoff of Pennsylvania; stepson, Nathaniel (Kelly) Grimm; several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews
In addition to his parents, Junie was preceded in death by his parents, Junior and Pauline; his sister, Janet Ann Kelly; his sisters-in- law, Sandra Kelly and Carolyn Kelly; his brother-in-law, Charles “Bill” Butcher; and his stepdaughter, Sherry Keller.
Friends may call at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. time of service Thursday, January 16, with Pastor Jay Freeland officiating. Interment will be held at the Centenary Cemetery in Bruceton Mills.
