Eleanor Louise Soccorsi Pawlak, 93, of Brookhaven, passed away peacefully Monday, January 6, 2025, in Mon General Hospital, after a courageous battle with pneumonia and RSV.
Born December 30, 1931, to Guido and Tressa Pegley Soccorsi, Eleanor was the last surviving child of her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Albert, Rudy, Junior, Chunky, Frank; and her sister, Helen.
Eleanor’s life was defined by her deep love for her family. She was a devoted mother to Corine Hardman and stepdaughter Kathy Pawlak Guiton; and a cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and aunt to many who adored her.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Douglas William Hardman; and her second husband, Stanley Pawlak; her son, Douglas Hardman Jr.; and her stepson, Stanley Pawlak III.
A special thanks to her nephew, Vince Soccorsi, who helped her over the years and was by her side when she passed. The family is eternally grateful to him.
Eleanor’s wish was to be cremated, and Kingwood Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In honor of Eleanor, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, in her name.
Eleanor’s warmth, strength, and love left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
