Donald Robert Bennett, born October 18, 1956, in Carrollton, Ohio died on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, 2024 in Morgantown, WV due to complications with Pneumonia. He was the beloved son of Carolyn and Elmer Bennett.
Affectionately known as Donnie, he was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was marked by love and compassion, exemplified by his 35-year career as a CNA at Mapleshire Nursing and Rehab, where he cared for countless individuals. He was a hard worker, who was dedicated to the service of others. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
Donnie is survived by his nieces, Catherine and Deliel Michael and Sharlene Michael; nephew Randy Bennett; siblings Sue Lewis, Richard Bennett, James Bennett, Ival Martin and Bill Martin.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Martin, Ricky Martin, Ernest Bennett, Bub Bennett; sisters, Betty Bennett JoAnn Wagner and long time friend and life partner Robert Lee Michael, Jr. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who will cherish their memories of Donnie.
The family will honor Donnie’s wishes for a simple cremation service. Private inurnment will be held by his family at a later date.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. at Bailey Farms Venue 120 Grant Street Fairview, WV 26570.
