Robert Allen Watts

Robert Allen “Bob” Watts, 84, of Westover, passed suddenly Thursday, December 19, 2024, in his home, after a long illness.
Born March 26, 1940, in Davis, a son of the late Blake and Rose Watts, Bob lived a life marked by service, love, and dedication.

A graduate of University High School, Bob served honorably with the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles, where he also played on the Army basketball team, competing across Europe. After his service, he worked in the coal mining industry, retiring at 55.
Bob’s passions included hunting, fishing, golf, gardening, and coaching youth sports.
A devoted Christian, he attended HOPE Church and lived his faith through kindness and action.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Jo Voithofer Watts; son, Robert G. “Bobby” Watts (Deanna); grandchildren, Chandler (Emily) and Ryan (Emily); and great- grandchildren, Addison, Greyson, and Avery.
Bob will be remembered for his humor, warmth, and dedication to his family. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched.
Honoring Bob’s wishes, a private ceremony was held at the East Oak Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. M.A. and Joseph Donham officiating. Military rites were rendered by WVANG, Kingwood, and the Mon County Honor Guard.
Services were entrusted to the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home.
