Katherine Lynn Moyers, best known as Kathy to her friends, left this world on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the age of 66. Born on February 25, 1958, in Morgantown, WV, Kathy’s life was marked by her boundless enthusiasm and her unwavering dedication to her family and career.
Surrounded by the caring staff at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, in her birthplace of Morgantown, Kathy passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and commitment. She began her journey as a cherished daughter of the late George and Roxanne Davis Geller and was also preceded in death by her dear sister, Kay Geller.
Kathy’s warmth and nurturing spirit will be profoundly missed by her adoring daughter, Tiffiny Kayali (Mohammed), whom she inspired every day. Her memory will be held dear by her stepchildren, Anthony Moyers (Kimberly) and Amber Moyers, and will continue to live in the laughter and joy of her sisters, Kim Magee, Kandace Bellman, and Karen Geller.
The family matriarch, Kathy’s presence will forever be etched in the hearts of her beloved grandchildren, Alexandra, Ariana, and Asher Kayali, as well as her step-grandchildren, Colin and Addison Moyers.
Kathy was proud of her academic achievements, having earned an Associate’s Degree that ignited her passion for healthcare. For over three decades, she served with distinction as a Perioperative Care Assistant at WVU Hospitals 2 West, pouring her energy and compassion into each day’s work.
Her spare time was filled with the joy of crafting, where Kathy excelled at creating beautiful wreaths, a testament to her artistic flair and meticulous attention to detail. Kathy lived a life of service, cherishing every moment she had to make a difference—proving that, for her, work was not just a job but a lifelong passion. Her remarkable spirit and dedication will be remembered always.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10 a.m. Kathy will be laid to rest at East Oak Grove Cemetery, following the funeral service.
