Gary Rose

Gary “Randy” Rose was born May 29, 1957, in Morgantown, where he lived his life out until his death Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at age of 67. Born to the union of Joda Junior Rose and Dorris Gene Rose, he was the youngest of three brothers.
Randy graduated from the Morgantown High School Class of 1975.
During his young adult life, Randy became an equipment operator for local mining companies. Aging in life, he sought a new career path as a salesman for Standard Hydraulics, where he was still employed until his Lord called him home.
Randy was a simple, easy-going man. He loved the fundamental things in life: God, family, his dogs, telling a story, good food, being in the woods hunting with his son, any dirt or asphalt car racing, and old vehicles.
But his true pride and joy was Travis, his son, best friend, and buddy. But when Travis married Laura, Randy was delighted to have a new member to the family, and when his only grandson, Tucker, was born, oh, how he glowed and boasted about the new grandson. Randy cherished every moment spent with his family by the stories he would tell people.
Randy is survived by his son, Travis and wife Laura; his grandson, Tucker; his oldest brother, Larry and wife Barbara; his dog, Piston; friend, Sandy Rose; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Rose, nephew Daniel A. Rose; and his pet, Hoss.
A viewing and memorial service will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., the time of a memorial service, Thursday, December 19, in the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, 10 S. High Street, Morgantown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Preston County Animal Shelter, 278 Poor Farm Road, Kingwood, WV 26537.
