Mary Catherine Hughes-Bowman, 80, of Maidsville, passed away Wednesday evening, December 11, 2024, in her daughter’s residence.
Mary was born October 17, 1944, in PIttsburgh, to the late Evelyn Snyder Holbert and Cecil Holbert.
Mary is survived by a son, Tim Hughes and wife Deb; daughters, Cathy Cobb and husband Gale, and Chrissy Hughes; her grandsons, Logan and Keith; granddaughters, Heather Giles and husband Ryan, Hannah Hughes, Elizabeth Cobb, Aubrie Cobb, and Isabella Cobb; two great-granddaughters, Meckenna McMillen- Cobb and Raylin Riggleman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ruel Duane Hughes; her second husband, Carl Bowman; and her son, whom she missed dearly, Jerry Hughes.
Friends may join the family to honor Mary’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Avenue, Westover (304) 292-9494, from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, December 16 and again Tuesday, December 17 from 10 until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. officiated by her son-in-law, Pastor Gale Cobb. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
