Kermit M. Hartley

Kermit M. “Kerm” Hartley, 96, of Terra Alta, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024, in his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born December 1, 1927, in Lead Mine, a son of the late Colin C. Hartley and Pheby Ellen Martin James.
Kerm proudly served in the United States Army Air Core.
He worked at Shirer’s Tin Shop then as an electrician at Lewis and Burge for over 55 years.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Terra Alta.
He is survived by his daughter, Vickie DeBerry and husband Harold; grandchildren, Dennis Lee Billips (Wendy), Marcia Knepp (Bill), and Melissa Ann Rice (Robert); his great- grandchildren, Lucy Billips, Craig Pritt (Rachel), and Megan Hinebaugh (Logan); and great-great- grandchildren, Olivia, Sophie, Kinleigh, and Kason.
In addition to his parents, Kerm was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 65 years, Wilma Jean Hartley; brother, Wade; and three sisters, Rena, Virginia, and Opal.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, at the Terra Alta Cemetery, where Military Honors will be conducted by the Preston County Honor Guard.
