Beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, Shirley Ann Hlad, 89, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024, in Evergreen Assisted Living Center. She was born October 3, 1935, in Cassville, a daughter of the late Fred and Nellie Wallace Hlad.
Shirley worked for Monongalia County Schools for many years.
She was a member of the Lions Club, and Catholic by faith.
She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Jane Ferrise and Mary Sue Hlad of Morgantown; nephews and nieces: Kenneth Miller, II of Morgantown; David Miller and wife Gail of Spring, Texas; Natalie Ferrise Busch and husband Wesley of Madison, Va.; Anthony James Ferrise of Alexandria, Va.; Patrick William Ferrise of Baltimore, Md.; Vicki Vaughn and husband Jim of Marietta, Ohio; Fred Hlad, III and wife Rebecca of Wheeling; Alan Hlad and wife Laurie of Akron, Ohio; Doug Hlad and wife Lisa of Wheeling; great-nieces and nephews, Abby Foote and husband Jake, Haley Cottrill and husband Ethan, Benjamin Wesley Busch; and cousin, Louis Hlad. Shirley is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great- nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Fred Hlad, Jr., Alfred Hlad; sisters, Pauline Murphy, Nellie Jean Miller; and a special friend, Dr. Patrick Julius.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. Friday, November 22, in the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Beverly Hills Chapel of Tranquility Mausoleum.
