Sandra Allison Moss (nee Sandra Joan Shaver), 80, passed away Monday, November 4, 2024, after a sudden illness in Morgantown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Edith Shaver; and her husband, Robert Allison.
She is survived by her husband, Craig Moss; children, Julia Soto (Miguel), Penelope Allison (Jim), and Tre Allison; and granddaughters, Olivia Soto, Gabrielle Soto, and Allison Baughman.
Life was an adventure for Sandra. Growing up on the family farm near Flatwoods, she was the first in her family to attend college, finishing her undergraduate degree in Biology at Morris Harvey College in Charleston in 1967 and a graduate degree in Childhood Development and Family Relations at West Virginia University in Morgantown in 1973.
Following her formal education, she was employed in a variety of settings, continuing on a path of personal growth and development.
A wonderful listener with a generous heart and a caring spirit, she delighted in drawing on her knowledge and experience to assist and support others. Sandra’s true passions in life were spending time with her family and friends, reading, travel, and gardening.
In keeping with Sandra’s wishes, no formal service will be held.
The family suggests that, for those wishing to honor and remember her, donations be made to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library or a charity of one’s choice.
