Billie’s journey was completed on this earth Wednesday, November 6, 2024, in her home on Eby Road in Thornton, at the age of 94, and she departed for her heavenly home.
2 Timothy 4:7-8:
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished my race, I have kept the faith:
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
She was born January 11, 1930, on the family farm near Thornton, to the late Alvie and Lula Walter Bolyard.
She graduated from Grafton High School in 1948.
Wilda worked as a teacher’s aide at both Thornton and Anna Jarvis elementary schools.
She attended the Evansville Church for many years. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, and her family and friends.
She is survived by one daughter, LuAnn Moore and husband John D. Quaranta; and two sons, Rodney Moore, and Randall Moore and wife Michele Moore; along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Billie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Robert E. Moore; as well as four brothers, Carl, Junior, Howard, Beryl; and one sister, Mildred Evans.
Family and friends will be received from 1 until 5 p.m. Saturday, November 9, in the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home, 950 George Washington Hwy, Grafton. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 10, in the Evansville Church, with the Rev. Marjorie Waybright presiding. Mrs. Moore will lie in state at the church beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in the Evansville Cemetery.
