Nancy Spencer Nunley

Nancy Spencer Nunley, 68, of Morgantown, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Camden Clark Hospital in Parkersburg, WV.
She was born on February 16, 1956, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Albert James and Vivian Windel Spencer.
Nancy was full of life, overflowing with compassion, and could always make those around her feel better with her positive energy and loving spirit. Music was her heart and soul-her home was often filled with the beautiful sounds of her piano playing, which brought joy to everyone who had the privilege of hearing it.
A devoted Christian, Nancy’s faith was central to who she was, and she lived out that faith through acts of service and love. She was a beloved member of Elizabeth Memorial United Methodist Church, where she played piano for the praise band. After moving to Morgantown in 2005, she became a member of Suncrest United Methodist Church where she often volunteered with the music program. Her passion for music also extended to her volunteer work, where she played piano for nursing homes and the Ronald McDonald House. She also loved visiting patients as part of Stephen’s Ministry, offering comfort through her presence and prayers.
Nancy graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in nursing and spent many years serving others. She worked for the Monongalia County Health Department and spent most of her career at Charleston Area Medical Center in the Post Cardiac Catheterization Unit. After returning to Morgantown, she retired from Mon General Hospital.
In her spare time, Nancy loved singing, line dancing, and spending time with her family. She especially cherished the moments she had with her granddaughters, who called her “Nana.” She also enjoyed shopping trips with her daughters, spending time with the love of her life, Dennis Brady, and cheering on the West Virginia University Mountaineers.
Nancy’s family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace with the Lord, and her legacy of faith, music, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Vivian Spencer. She is survived by her daughters, Sarah Kendall (Eric) of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Rebecca Kelley (Collyn) of Kailua, Hawaii; granddaughters, Madison and Lillian Kendall of Parkersburg, W.Va.; grand-dogs Luna and Dallas; brother, David Spencer of Morgantown; and life partner, Dennis Brady of Charleston.
Friends and family will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 8th, and again from 10 a.m until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 9th at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown with Rev. Frank Shomo officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Morgantown.
