Incumbent ag commissioner Leonhardt poised for another term, while his GOP colleague Hunt was also winning for state auditor

Kent Leonhardt, West Virginia’s incumbent Commissioner of Agriculture, was on his way to victory over his challenger Deborah Stiles on Tuesday night.

With more than half the state’s 55 counties reporting at 10 p.m., the Republican Leonhardt had amassed 310,395 votes to the 132,745 ballots cast for Stiles on the Democrat ballot.

It was also looking like a GOP victory in the race for state auditor, as well.

Mark Hunt was outpacing Democrat Mary Roebuck Claytor, 306,989 votes to 135,684.

Tuesday night’s totals won’t be official until canvassing.
