Clarence Watkins, 83, passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 28, 2024, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, with family at bed side. He was born in 1941 in Fairmont, W.Va., a son of Charles and Doris Watkins.
Clarence attended Fairmont State and then transferred to West Virginia University, where he received his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering.
Clarence retired from Monongahela Power Company after 31 years of service.
He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Sarah; three children, Jennifer (David) Hutter of Columbia, S.C., William (Kelly) Watkins of Morgantown, Jason Watkins of Panama City Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Garrett (Madi) Hutter of Pasadena, Md., Olivia Hutter of Columbia, Ethan Watkins of Morgantown, Alison Watkins of Morgantown.
Clarence was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a member of Sabraton Hill Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He had a passion for clogging, round dancing, and square dancing. He had a joy for life; and loved camping with family, helping others, crafting, and hanging out with his grandchildren. He will be missed by many.
Memorial services will be planned at a later date.
