Cody Jenkins

Cody Dale Jenkins, 31, of Waynesburg, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 13, 2024.

Born in Greensburg, Pa., on Oct. 21, 1992, Cody was the son of Jack Jenkins and Pamela Eckard and is also survived by his mother, Robin Jenkins, and stepfather, Michael Eckard.

In addition to his parent’s Cody is survived by his son, Carter Matthew Jenkins, of Waynesburg, Pa., and three sisters: April Knotts (Corey) of Lenox, Preston County, Brandy Jenkins (Danny) of Baker, Hardy County, and Beth Ann Barry (Edward) of Coatsville, Pa. He also leaves behind two nephews, Garhet Knotts and Eddie Barry, and four nieces: Savannah and Breanna Suit and Jacqueline and Emma Barry. Additionally, he is remembered by a special family friend, Chuck Hunnell, of Waynesburg, Pa., who played a grandfatherly role in Cody’s life and was a constant source of support.

Cody’s most profound love was directed towards his son, Carter Matthew. He treasured the moments they shared and held a deep love for him. We are all thankful to have a part of Cody remaining in this world.

Cody’s infectious grin could light up any space. Growing up, he loved making people laugh and was always up to some fun shenanigans with his cousin, RJ, crafting unforgettable moments that everyone who knew him would hold dear.

A dedicated worker and skilled handyman, Cody contributed to the preservation of Chuck’s farm in Waynesburg, where he had lived for several years. Cody took pleasure in playing football, participating in the sport during his high school years and also competing at the collegiate level for a period of time. He had a passion for attending Penn State football games and enjoyed traveling with Chuck. Cody also had the unique experience of living in Maui, Hawaii, where he developed a deep affection for the island. His last wishes expressed a desire to be cremated and have his ashes scattered off the shore of Maui.

Cody was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Sue Jenkins, Charlotte Sauberan, Larry Daniels Sr., and Orian “Joe” and Shirley Taylor.

Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, from noon until the 3 p.m. memorial service with Randy Summers officiating.
