Two men were arrested Thursday at a residence on North High Street in Morgantown, following a warranted search by members of the Mon Metro Drug Task Force and the Morgantown Police Department Special Response Team.
Through prior investigation, task force agents learned that Joseph S. Gentile, 61, was the resident of 510 North High St., Apartment B, court records state.
During the execution of the search warrant at Gentile’s apartment, police encountered another individual, Destin Alexander Mclendon, 22, of Capitol Heights, Md.
According to criminal complaints, law enforcement found what was described as “distribution quantities” of methamphetamine, fentanyl and crack cocaine.
In addition to the drugs, agents discovered U.S. currency, handguns, packing material and digital scales consistent with the sale of illegal drugs.
Gentile and Mclendon were each charged with three counts of possession with the intent to deliver methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine, as well as one count each for conspiracy.
Both men were arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court Thursday. Bond for Gentile was set at $30,000 and $50,000 for Mclendon. They are currently scheduled for preliminary hearings Sept. 19.
